Mechelle Schloss art, music, life...

Mechelle is an abstract artist and musician living in metro D.C. She is self taught, and enjoys experimenting with many mediums. Currently, her passion and focus is creating medium to large scale oil and acrylic paintings that portray emotive atmospheres and spaces that, she hopes, will encourage the viewer to step into and find their own sense of place and emotion within the piece. For Mechelle, each piece is about the journey, and the soul of the work. There is no prior planning or picture in her mind as she approaches the canvas. The painting evolves into what it was meant to be as it is being worked. One of her pieces was recently selected to be included in Digital Art Revolution, a new book by Scott Ligon that was released internationally March 9th, 2010 by Watson-Guptill, a subsidiary of Random House, the premier publisher in books. mechellerene@gmail.com
